ABOUT GASPER

Gasper Moschera was New York's #1 claiming trainer for six years - and was in the top ten seventeen years in a row (1983-1999). His specialty was spotting value horses other trainers discarded, and turning them into repeat stakes winners. What Gasper did to resuscitate their careers and bring them greatness is so remarkable that even people in the racing community never quite caught the greatness of the man.

If you never heard of Gasper Moschera, it's because I never hung up my shingle as a handicapper. But in New York circles, they still talk about "the Gasman" as maybe the best claiming trainer of all time. I was in the Top Ten 17 years running. I saddled 1,750 winners and collected $17,000,000 in purses. And I did it by spotting - and claiming - value horses whose own barns didn't know they were ready to run the race of their lives!

Nobody understood how I did it - They thought I was a Miracle Trainer. I was not... I was a Miracle Handicapper! And my magic wand was The Daily Racing Form. I know how to massage the PP'S to yield their secrets...

"The Gasman," does it again: New method cashes winners worth $144.00, $70.50, $80.50, and $146.20!

The method is called The Trainer Hidden Form Angle and in it Gasper "the Gasman" Moschera- New York's six-time #1 claiming trainer - reveals more of his form-finding secrets that earned $17,000,000 in stakes purses and won $millions for him personally through the windows.

Learn the secret signs that tell you when a trainer is "shooting for a purse" but doesn't want to risk losing his horse to a claim. Nifty? You bet - the crowd knows nothing!

Some of Gasper's Winners's Circle appearances

He was not only the New York Racing Association's leading trainer six years in a row - which nobody had ever done before -(or has done since). He was in the Top Ten every year from '82 to 1999..

He achieved all his success with nothing but "rejects: "washed up" claimers other trainers had given up on.

Time and again he would buy a plater for $10,000 or $12,500 that nobody thought had a chance to win and within weeks, sometimes days, enter that horse in the right race and win - often beating the very trainer who had given up on the mount!

It's in the record books: Trainer Gasper Moschera won $17,000,000 in purses with "washed up" claimers that turned out to be high six and even seven-figure stakes champions. Look at the record

Horse Claimed for Earned More Than
Iron Gavel $15,500 $750,000
Mr. Sinatra $75,000 $700,000
Royal Haven   $800,000
Shoop $25,000 $900,000
Moro   $1,000,000
In the Rough $35,000 $600,000
Carjack   $600,000
Videogenic $100,000 $2,000,000

NOBODY UNDERSTOOD HOW HE DID IT
THEY THOUGHT HE WAS A MIRACLE TRAINER...
HE WAS NOT - HE WAS A MIRACLE HANDICAPPER!...
AND HIS MAGIC WAND WAS THE DAILY RACING FORM

That's the point they never understood. As an outsider - forced by circumstances to glean every possible bit of usable information from the Daily Racing Form, he turned into an expert at reading the pp's, uncovering the latent form of a horse, spotting tell tale signs it had been entered in the wrong kind of race, at the wrong distance or against the wrong company.

IF YOU EVER WONDERED - WHAT EVER BECAME OF GASPER MOSCHERA?

That's what Eclipse Award racing writer Paul Moran asked on his website. "At the height of his success, he, like Cher and Madonna, would be known by one name. Then, without fanfare or announcement, Gasper just disappeared."

Here's what happened. As he explained to Daily Racing Form's Dave Grening, it was all over Lasix. While every other racing venue - Europe, Hong Kong, Dubai - banned the stuff, we went ahead and legalized it. Lasix masks symptoms of other drugs. It colors all past performances - so when he went to claim a horse, he could no longer be sure what he was looking at. He was convinced Lasix was responsible for the dramatic increase in horse breakdowns. He just got disgusted and quit.

But as he told Thoroughbred Times, "Who knows? In a year or two maybe I'll be back." And here he is. Listen ,if Cher and Madonna can do it, why not Gasper? Why not, indeed. His career answered that question postively, and he's answering it positively for you each day at Belmont / Aqueduct / Saratoga.
